Qualifications

How Do I Qualify for this Position? To be considered for the position, you must meet the following qualification requirements. Education: There is no substitution of education for specialized experience for this position. Experience: You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level in federal service. Specialized experience is progressively responsible analytical or administrative, or clinical management or supervisory experience in the health care field. This work may have been performed in an operating health care facility or a higher organizational echelon with advisory or directional authority over such facilities. Work must have involved a close working relationship with facility managers and analysis and/or coordination of administrative, clinical, or other service activities, and provided knowledge of the following: Missions, organizations, programs, and requirements of health care delivery systems; Regulations and standards of various regulatory and credentialing groups; and Government-wide, agency, and facility systems and requirements in various administrative areas, such as budget, personnel, and procurement. Some examples of this qualifying experience are: Experience that demonstrates knowledge of Joint Commission Standards and American Correctional Association principles, concepts, and methodology necessary for the administration of a Quality Improvement program. Experience in coordinating, implementing, monitoring and evaluating quality improvement, and utilization review and risk management activities to ensure compliance with established operational procedures, Joint Accreditation and American Correctional Association standards. Experience in identifying and analyzing deficiencies and recommending corrective actions to management. Experience in preparing correspondence, documents and responses related to policy issues, internal and external audits as well as assisting in the review and preparation of policy statements and various requests for information. AND Selective Placement Factors: Applicants applying for this position MUST also possess the following Selective Factors. In the event you do not possess the Selective Factor, you will be found ineligible for the position. Applicants must have experience working in an infection prevention and control and/or quality improvement program as it relates to: Prevention of exposure to infectious diseases; administration of vaccinations; reduction in the transmission of infectious agents; containment of infectious outbreaks; and evaluation and management of infection prevention and control and quality improvement and risk management programs and activities. NOTE: All applicants must clearly address the Selective Factor in their resume. If applicable, credit will be given for paid and unpaid experience.
