As a Property Disposal Specialist, you will work as part of a team responsible for performing all phases of activities involving the Property Management programs of government personal property.
Location of position:
Federal Acquisition Service, Fort Worth, TX or Denver, CO
The Personal Property Management Division is responsible for utilization, donation and marketing/sale of government personal property
We are currently filling one vacancy, but additional vacancies may be filled as needed.
Duties
Assists and/or plans, prepares and conducts marketing/sales of personal exchange/sale property or personal property declared surplus to national Federal and State requirements.
Serves in sales include large quantities of vehicles, highly specialized equipment, various types of high grade metals, boats, aircraft, recycling, and other commodities of personal property.
Serves as a Contracting Officer may be required or awards contracts through a Contracting Officer for final authority.
Maintains liaison with bidders, business community, agency officials, state and local government representatives, and others to determine reactions to sales, problems encountered, solutions developed; recommends changes to existing procedures.
Requirements
- US Citizenship or National (Residents of American Samoa and Swains Island)
- Meet all eligibility criteria within 30 days of the closing date
- Meet time-in-grade within 30 days of the closing date, if applicable

To qualify for the GS-09, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 level or higher in the Federal service.
Specialized experience is defined as experience performing property disposal work for excess and surplus personal property using principles and concepts associated with one or more of the following disposal functions: utilization; donation; sales/marketing.
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such degree or a LL.B or J.D. if related in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
