These positions serves as Management and Program Assistants assigned to the Quality, Safety, Value & High Reliability Service under the supervision and guidance of the Chief, or designee. Responsibilities are to collect, analyze and report data and information on a variety of service and facility level improvement initiatives; track, analyze and report data on multiple systems and programs, and to provide administrative support. Duty Location: VA Health Care System, Marion, IL.

***THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL POSITION, YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF THE DUTY LOCATION*** Duties include, but are not limited to the following: Researches, collects, develops and consolidates data for use in the preparation of reports; Compiles statistics and supporting analyses for use in the decision-making process of writing special reports by higher-level specialists; Uses office automation equipment and various software programs to create, copy, edit, store, retrieve and print a variety of documents, produce correspondence, memorandum, forms, reports, create or maintain spreadsheets or databases, etc., in support of organizational goals; Takes and transcribes notes, writing minutes and/or memorandum, and drafting atypical responses for supervisor's signature; Recognizes and uses correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling; communicates information in a brief, clear, and organized manner; produces written information, which may include technical material, that is appropriate for the intended audience; Identifies discrepancies and trends and resolves problems by considering the objectives and interrelations of various work units, program operations and required end result; Displays a high level of initiative, effort, and commitment towards completing assignments in a timely manner; works with minimal supervision; is motivated to achieve; demonstrates responsible behavior; Coordinates work with others as necessary and interpreting policy in terms of established directives; Performs timekeeper duties; Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must have the following experience: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-6) in Federal service that provided you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of a Management and Program Assistant. Specialized experience includes work in a medical facility or other clinical environment performing administrative duties receiving and screening visitors and telephone calls; answering questions concerning established policy; maintaining program records, policies, and procedures manuals to meet Joint Commission; compiling statistics and supporting analyses for use in the decision-making process; receiving, reviewing and analyzing data to determine completeness and accuracy of reports; detecting inconsistencies or errors in data, determining the source of the problem and the root cause, discussing errors with supervisor and program owners; serving as a timekeeper for assigned staff. NOTE: Your experience must be fully documented in your resume and must include job title, duties, month and year start/end dates AND hours worked per week.
