About the Position: This position is located at the Armaments Software Engineering Center, Combat Capabilities Development Command, Armaments Center. Armament Center is the Army's Center of Lethality, provides more than 90 percent of Army's lethality to soldiers. CCDC Armaments Center mission includes: improving already fielded items, developing new items, maintaining a strong armament technology base in government, industry and academia & providing technical support to Soldiers in the field.
Duties
Manage the security operations for an organization and ensure that personnel are aware of the proper protection of sensitive and classified information.
Develop and present command wide security briefing or training programs.
Implement and evaluate the effectiveness of the organizations Security Program.
Analyze and evaluate security operations to identify risks or opportunities for improvement.
Brief and train personnel regarding handling and safeguarding classified material, situational awareness, to prevent unauthorized disclosure.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on a T5 (or equivalent level) investigation with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 20% of the time.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, employee must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- This position requires the incumbent to obtain the following core SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first two years of employment.

- Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act Career Field Position.

One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Safeguarding all equipment and systems, and the secure handling of all documents that are printed and stored in a controlled facility; AND 2) Reporting and investigating all suspected security incidents or violations within a controlled area; AND 3) Operating and maintaining all Classified Communications Security (COMSEC) equipment, classified and unclassified computer systems, and intrusion detection systems; AND 4) Ensuring the proper receipt, storage, handling, transmission and destruction of security documentation. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (DE-02/GS-11).
