Duties

Position Description # D2368000 This position is located in the Wing Headquarters of an Air National Guard (ANG) Wing. This is an Air National Guard (ANG) Dual Status Technician position requiring military membership, compatible military skill assignment, and classification. The purpose of this position is to provide subject matter expertise, leadership, consultation, collaboration, and advisory services essential to the direction and efficient operation of the organization. Directly assist leaders with the management of key day to day planning, public affairs, process improvement, protocol, operations and special projects at the highest level of the organization. Collaborates and coordinates assigned functions with managers, office of primary responsibility, leaders and supervisors; participate with management to address and resolve issues, as well as provide recommendations for correcting or improving the organizations overall program management, efficiency and effectiveness. This position reports directly to the Wing Commander.. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements

  • NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. If you are not sure you are eligible for military membership, please contact a National Guard recruiter prior to applying for this position.
  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in military assignment in WV's National Guard, and is required prior to the effective date of placement.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
  • Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
  • Male applicants born after 12/31/1959 and are required to register under the Military Selective Service Act, the Defense Authorization Act of 1986 requires that you be registered, or you are not eligible for appointment in this agency.
  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Required to obtain and maintain a satisfactory security clearance, AND, as a minimum, a completed National Agency Check (NAC) prior to assignment.
  • The agency will provide additional information regarding what information or documentation will be needed and how you can request of the agency a legally required exception from this requirement.
  • This position requires military membership, compatible unit and Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC) assignments, and the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance level which is based on the position security access requirement.
  • The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.
  • The work may require the employee to drive a motor vehicle and if so, an appropriate valid driver?s license is required.
  • This position may be designated mission essential based on local conditions. Mission essential personnel report for duty at normal times when the base is closed or delayed reporting and remain on duty during phased or early release.
  • May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours; compensatory time may be required.

MINIMUM MILITARY GRADE: O-2 MAXIMUM MILITARY GRADE: O-4 Your rank MUST be included somewhere within your resume. The memorandum must be submitted WITH your application to be considered for this position. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Experience, education or training in managing or directing, one or more programs, including appropriate supporting service organizations. Supervisory, managerial, professional or technical work experience and/or training which has provided knowledge of management principles, practices, methods and techniques. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: - Must have at least 36 months experience, education or training analyzing problems, identifying significant factors, gathering pertinent data and recognizing solutions. Experience preparing reports, plans, policies and various correspondence. Experience evaluating objectives and develop plans to facilitate the availability and effective utilization of various resources. Experience utilizing the organization, its mission and the organizational staff procedures. Experience using quantitative and qualitative techniques for analyzing and measuring the effectiveness, efficiency and productivity of administrative and technical programs. Experience developing the mission and work processes of programs throughout the military organization and multi level agencies. Experience in analytical and investigative techniques.
