About the Position: Fort Buchanan is located near San Juan, Puerto Rico, within a short drive from the Luis Mu?oz Marin International Airport, Old San Juan, and most popular tourist attractions and beaches. PR is designated as an OCONUS Non-foreign area. Initial Service Agreement is for a 2-year tour. Salary shown in this announcement includes a Locality Payment of 16.50% for this Non-Foreign Area. An adjusted Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) rate of 2.81% is not reflected in the salary shown.

Duties

Plans and estimates for in-house maintenance, repairs, alterations, modifications, and small construction for installation facilities. Analyzes work to be done and utilizing accepted trade practices, via an automated system, develops/prepares specifications and sketches; most efficient sequence for performing work Work, plans, sketches, specifications, and Government estimates for work to be accomplished through small contracts. Inspects work to determine if all conditions and specifications of the contract are met. Coordinate with contractor on site, inspects work to determine if all conditions and specifications of the contract are met. Inspects job sites while work is in progress to observe whether work is accomplished according to plans and specifications.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation National Agency Check inquiries (NACI).
  • TDY travel is required approximately 5 percent of the time.
