You will serve as an ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the NAVAL AIR WARFARE CENTER AIRCRAFT DIVISION of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.

Duties

You will analyze NAWCAD, NAVAIR, DoD, and customer requirements to define, recommend, develop, and implement adequate test facility capabilities. You will make recommendations to the EME Branch Head on new processes and techniques to improve efficiency and effectiveness of maintenance activity on systems. You will plan and establish the process to collect maintenance metrics for documenting and analyzing the performance of maintenance processes, personnel training and certification, predictive maintenance, spare parts management, etc. You will prepare large and difficult assignments, which include planning, organizing, training, conducting, and assigning comprehensive upgrades to laboratory systems and evaluations of customer systems, subsystems and components.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1.) Knowledge and ability to make significant modifications to intersystem electromagnetic compatibility standard practices, techniques and procedures, adapt precedent or devise new approaches in order to provide for the specialized project requirements. 2.) Knowledge of the T&E processes and techniques required to independently plan, schedule, conduct and coordinate system level aircraft test projects in a segment of a major program or a total project of such significance as to require the creation of new techniques which become precedent for less experienced personnel to apply in subsequent similar assignments. 3.) Knowledge of related aircraft and ground based vehicle technology and scientific disciplines sufficient to ensure the integrity and interactivity of the project effort within the intended platform.
