About the Position: Serve as Traffic Management Specialist in the Transportation Division of Logistics Readiness Center (LRC) located on Fort CArson, Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Duties

Serve as the Container Control Officer (CCO) for the AFSBn-CARSON with responsibility for the management, shipping, receiving, and tracking of Quadcons, Tricons, 20ft and 40ft containers and Container Roll-in Roll-out Platforms (CROPS). Duties require frequent and close coordination with Divisional Units, Contractor Container Management Section, Army Intermodal Distribution and Platform Management Office (AIDPMO), transportation, storage, and receiving. Performance of duties requires a seasoned and practical knowledge of the supply system and regulatory requirements; an understanding of the Army Lease Management Program and the Container Maintenance Management Program to include property disposal. Assists with developing, advising, planning, coordinating, evaluating, and controlling the worldwide movement of containers and containerized equipment. Provide traffic management advice, assistance, and technical guidance on transportation matters relative to procurement and contacts, over ocean cargo forecasting, tracer actions, shipment expedite, diversions, freight classifications; (continued) materiel positioning, transportability of overweight, oversize, and hazardous items/shipments, import/export, CONUS and OCONUS logistics. Serves as the transportation expert user in regard to the Logistics Modernization Program (LMP).

  • This position requires incumbent to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • HAZMAT Certification (Employee must be able to attend and pass the HAZMAT certification training to retain position)
  • Must be able to operate in high temperature and areas of high noises.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes planning and coordinating movement of freight and personnel identifying economical rates and routes for movement or shipment. OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, or other fields related to the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
