Duties
You will design and constructs a variety of highly complex and accurate models, and devices from wide variety materials.
You will conduct research on new materials and established techniques and procedures for their use in model making.
You will consult with and advise Midshipmen, Trident/Bowman Scholars, and other academic customers regarding composites and woodworking technologies, processes, materials and fabrication techniques.
You will prepare outlines of subject matter, and conducts laboratories/lectures about advanced composites and woodworking processing techniques for groups of students and academic customers.
You will use composite materials (i.e., carbon fiber, fiberglass, high and low density foams and other materials).
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

Qualifications
For the GS-11:
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Designing the construction of and/or personally fabricating various test devices utilizing architectural and aircraft drawings, sketches and /or oral information, designs; 2) Using composite materials (i.e., carbon fiber, fiberglass, high and low density foams and other materials) to fabricate highly accurate classroom and research models; 3) Researching new and current features of Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAD/CAM) software programs and applying those features to manufacturing processes.
