Qualifications
We are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below:
To qualify for the GS-12 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-11 level defined as presenting and justifying a budget for execution to management officials; providing short- or long-term analyses on budgetary/financial data for determining an organization’s future needs and requirements; evaluating final determinations on the approval/disapproval of program funding resources.
To qualify for the GS-13 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-12 level defined as managing budget execution for a project or program; compiling financial reports for senior management; or presenting budget procedure and strategy information to internal or external parties.
Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of federal regulations, systems, economic and fiscal procedures of the Federal government, states, localities, and tribes.
Knowledge of financial and budgetary policies, Agency precedent setting decisions, and procedures.
Skill in applying a wide range of analytical and evaluative methods and techniques.
Knowledge of pertinent laws, regulations, policies, directives, and precedents which affect the use of program and related support resources.
Skill in applying a wide range of methods used to gather, analyze, and evaluate information.
Knowledge of agency programs and functions, policies, objectives and issues, and their relationship to other federal/state/local government entities.
Skill in interpreting financial, contractual, and acquisition regulations and guidelines.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
