This position is located within the Plant Engineering Division (PED), United States Mint, Denver. The PED is responsible for the facility and equipment maintenance and repair at the Denver Mint. PED also supports production programs for the Coining and Die Divisions.
Duties
As a Program Assistant, you will:
Be responsible for various programs that support Plant Engineering to include, but not limited to Personal Protective Equipment, Service Contracts, Technician Training, Employee Uniforms, and Office Supply Management (outside Supply procurement).
Be responsible for Contracting Officer Representative (COR) duties in the management of service contracts related to Plant Engineering Division (PED) programs.
Gather data, identify inaccuracies or anomalies in the information, prepare reports, and take action or make recommendations to resolve discrepancies consistent with normal practice or based on interpretation and adaptation of applicable regulations.
Be responsible for micro-purchase (credit card) procurement of non-stock requisitions for Maintenance Repair Operation (MRO) parts for all functional areas of the US Mint- Denver that are secured through the PED. Ensure all credit card purchases are entered into the appropriate Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for cost accountability.
Resolve acquisition related problems by making recommendations to customers, procurement and financial management staff, and contractors or venders.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized experience: For the GS-7, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-6 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
- Providing technical support and assisting with programs in support of facility and equipment maintenance and repair.
Examples of such experience could include:
-Providing support in areas such as Personal Protective Equipment, Service Contracts, Technician Training, Employee Uniforms and Office Supply Management; OR
-Assisting with procurement/contracting activities relating to program support; OR
-Assisting with compiling, summarizing, organizing and presenting findings to management; OR
-Communicating professionally, both orally and in writing, with peers, management and customers.
