You will serve as a ELECTRICIAN in the PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT of NAVFAC SOUTHWEST.

Duties

You will independently plan and lay out routing, placement, and arrangement of industrial or similarly complex systems, circuits, controls, and equipment, in accordance with building plans, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings. You will be responsible for the safe and proper operation of systems and equipment, and for compliance with the National Electrical Code. You will complete installations, modifications, and repairs, and loads and test systems, circuits, equipment, and controls with little or no check during the progress or upon completion of work. You will install and repair conduit, wiring, couplings, fittings, relays, controls, and distribution panels, and other electrical devices used in a variety of complete electrical systems.

• You may be required to obtain and maintain current licenses to operate Fork Lift, High Lift (JLG), Bucket Truck and/or construction equipment.
• You may require special certifications or licenses if assigned work requires special certification or licensing to perform the work or to use specialized tools or equipment.

Your resume must show that you have the ability to perform common tasks under general supervision including: 1) Installing of a variety of electrical systems; 2) Working from blueprints, wiring diagrams, and/or engineering drawing to lay out the placement of electrical lines, circuits, and controls; 3) Using a variety of test equipment, e.g., meggers, multimeters, frequency meters, watt meters, power factor meters, vibro-grounds, phase rotation meters, to perform the job; 4) Conducting tests on electrical systems to determine repairs needed.
