About the Position: The primary purpose of this position is to perform administrative, clerical, office automation, military Human Resources duties, and serve as personal assistant for the ACofS/G1. Actively participates in management of the office by performing routine assignments and coordinating work of the office with other offices, thereby relieving the supervisor for more technical tasks. Duties performed include the following:

Serve as a Government Purchase Cardholder for department.
Monitor and process congressional correspondence.
Participate in management of the office by performing routine assignments and coordinating work of the office with other offices.
Maintain supervisor's calendar, schedule appointments and conferences without prior approval.
Perform duties pertaining to the personnel assignment and monitor military personnel utilization and strength accountability.
Assist in making travel arrangements for travel utilizing the Defense Travel System (DTS).
Perform administrative, clerical, office automation, military Human Resources duties, and serve as personal assistant for the Assistant Chief of Staff.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Operation of a motor vehicle may be required. Must possess and maintain a valid and current state driver's license.
- This position requires the services of a full qualified typist.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a two year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Preparing reports, policy memoranda, itineraries, standard operating procedures, congressional correspondence, or other material in final form from rough draft, notes, or oral instructions while ensuring grammar, spelling, capitalization, punctuation, etc. are correct; 2) monitoring transactions of travel card recipients and able to identify delinquent accounts; scheduling calendars based on requirements and meeting priorities; and 3) utilizing various computer programs such as Microsoft Office Programs, Defense Travel System (DTS). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.
