The Airway Transportation Systems Specialist (ATSS) is considered a technical expert within the FAA for an assigned system and specialty area.

Duties

This position is an ATSS (Team Lead) represents an Operations Control Center within the NAS Security & Enterprise Operations (NASEO) Directorate as the primary point of contact on matters associated with maintenance control activities, emerging technologies and customer concerns. Maintains the highest degree of technical knowledge on integrated systems within a broad area of expertise.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents)
  • Designated or Random Drug Testing required.
  • Valid state driver's license is required.

Qualifications

There is no timeframe requirement at the Level IV/FV-I to compete. To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess specialized experience equivalent to the next lower level/grade FV-I, FG/GS-13. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Experience that demonstrates an extensive knowledge of and experience in technology system interrelationships, and management of civilian or military automated aviation, navigation, and electronics systems. Specialized experience for this position includes the following:Experience in collaborating with multiple customers to shut down and restore facilities, systems, and services to minimize disruption of services to the flying public.Experience in developing innovative solutions to resolve NAS operational problems, which can have national or international implications.Demonstrated Abilities: You MUST provide a NARRATIVE statement for each Demonstrated Ability and Quality Ranking Factor.
