About the Position: This position is with the US Army Installation Management Command, US Army Garrison Fort McCoy, Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security located at Ft. McCoy, WI

Duties
Maintain a daily journal of pertinent information transmitted and received.
Provide guidance for Range Operations and Safety instructions, policy and procedures.
Conduct daily on-site surveys to ensure units are following range regulations.
Ensure unit training is being conducted in a safe manner.
Schedule range inspections with units based on training events posted on the Range Control daily activity calendar.
Disseminate weather advisories for severe weather via radio communications.
Ensure ranges, training areas and facilities are maintained and utilized according to the Range Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Conduct inspections when units have completed training.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- The duties of this position may require the incumbent to work evenings, nights, holidays, and/or weekends to include modification in shifts and/or tour of duty.
- Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid state driver's license for operation of government vehicles.
- Must be able to pass successfully a Range Safety Certification Examination.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes work that involves implementing operating procedures related to military exercises and training activities; enforcing organizational policies and procedures related to range safety, emergency procedures and range maintenance; operating various computer programs; and communication via multiple radio systems.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
