This position is located in US Department of Homeland Security, US Coast Guard, Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Division (CG-7114), Office of Aviation Forces (CG-711), Assistant Commandant for Capability (CG-7), Deputy Commandant for Operations (DCO), detached-duty at the U.S. Coast Guard Training Center in Mobile, Alabama.
Duties
This position will serve as the subject matter expert for the Coast Guard's Short Range Unmanned Aircraft Systems (SR-UAS) program. The purpose of this position is to plan, develop, implement, coordinate and review Coast Guard workforce development solutions.
Requirements
- Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Willing to travel at least one week of each month to deliver training.
Qualifications
Selective Factor: Must have a current FAA Part 107 License.
AND
Basic Individual Occupational Education Requirement: Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- education or a subject area related to the position to be filled.
AND
Specialized Experience: To qualify for the GS-13 grade level, applicants must possess one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
Specialized experience must include:
Assist with overseeing a training program; AND
Writing and/or editing training materials, according to written standards and guidelines; AND
Delivering oral presentations or trainings in classroom or hybrid settings; AND
Serving as a liaison for training and development.
NOTE: Education is not a substitution for specialized experience at this grade level.
Quality Factors are competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) that are expected to enhance performance of a position. The following quality factors below are preferred but will not be used to disqualify applicants.
1. Knowledge of FAA and DOD UAS regulations in the National Airspace System.2. Knowledge of the National Institute for Standardization and Technologies training methods.3. Knowledge of the current and future technological capabilities of the UAS industry.4. Ability to operating Small Unmanned Aerial Systems for the United States Federal Government;
