The primary purpose of this position is to: To serve as a senior systems administrator with responsibility for
planning and coordinating the installation, testing, modifying, upgrading, operation, troubleshooting, and
maintenance of hardware and software systems for the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC).
Duties
1. Performs services as a senior systems administrator for AFLCMC Plans, coordinates, and installs applications software
and hardware for operating systems.
2. Provides technical guidance and instruction to users and other IT specialists.
3. Serves as a senior technical advisor to management.
4. Maintains liaison with manufacturers, professional organizations, and counterparts at other installations and services
regarding available products and state-of-the-art technologies and advancements

- Information Assurance Certification is a condition of employment. This position includes information assurance (IA) work as a paramount duty requirement.
- Per DoD 8570.01-M, the incumbent of this position must achieve the appropriate IA certification within six months of assignment of these duties.
- A waiver of this six month requirement may be granted per DoD 8570.01-M, C3.2.4.2 or C3.2.4.3. Failure to receive the proper IA certification may result in removal from this position.
Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, . Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT: QSH: IAW OPM Qualification Standards Group Coverage for IAW Information Tech IT Management Series 2210 (Alt A) and IOR met w/GS-2210 for Transfer
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes Applicants must have one (1) year of experience in operation and function of supporting software and tools equivalent to the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent. Past experience administrating server-side technology and networked computing systems. Familiarity with SQL and database operations. Experience must include demonstrated skill in planning, assembling, implementing, and supporting administration of systems; maintaining system configurations; managing the installation of system updates/enhancements.

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-?grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of the principles, methods, and practices for integrating information system components sufficient to plan, coordinate, and administer computer systems, and optimize system performance.
2. Knowledge of the latest advancements in technology to initiate corrective or preventative action to ensure optimum performance of the system
3. Knowledge of performance tuning tools, database management, and project management methods sufficient to optimize systems performance, troubleshoot database performance problems, and perform a wide range of systems administration functions.
4. Knowledge of operating systems, associated devices, and the interoperability of systems sufficient to install, upgrade,
troubleshoot, test, and maintain those systems; to optimize the functionality and performance of systems; and to ensure the availability, integrity, efficiency, and reliability of servers.
5. Ability to apply methods and practices for troubleshooting, recovering, adjusting, modifying, and improving systems to solve complex problems, provide support that minimizes interruptions in service to customers, and maintain liaison with industry and other activities to provide awareness of state-of-the-art technology.
6. Ability to communicate orally and in writing
