You will serve as the Supervisory Administrative Services Manager (SAS) for the Director of Acute Care within the Office of Patient Care Services, Nursing Service Line and is part of the administrative leadership reporting directly to the Business Manager. of the VA Puget Sound Health Care System, Seattle division, Seattle, Washington.
Duties
You will function as the administrative manager for the clinical leaders responsible for the Acute Care specialties which are covered in Seattle.
You will provide direct support to Nurse Managers who are disbursed throughout the Acute Care Section of Nursing Service.
You will perform quantitative and qualitative data of studies and summarize significant trends and issues that affect the Acute Care programs.
You will provide equipment lifecycle program management and contract program effectiveness and productivity within Acute Care Section of Nursing Service.
You will forecast and estimate program requirements, prepare reports, justifications, charts, graphs for statistical and narrative data for briefings and presentations.
You will be responsible for equipment procurement and maintenance, coordination of space utilization, and liaise with human resources for personnel issues.
You will assign work to subordinates based on priorities and selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments and the capabilities of employees.
You will evaluate the work performance of subordinates and develop annual performance plans.
You will Identify developmental training needs of the employees and provide the needed development and training.
You will find ways to improve production and increase the quality of the work.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement, 08/11/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-09 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-07. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.

Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-07 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: provide direct supervision to staff; perform studies, quantitative and qualitative data; summarize significant trends and issues, and, contract program(s) effectiveness and productivity; forecast and estimate program requirements, prepare reports, justifications, charts, graphs for statistical and narrative data for briefings and presentations; apply analytical knowledge and skill in evaluating various operational alternatives and developing recommendations for management consideration for assigned areas. OR,
EDUCATION (TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED): Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have successfully completed master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. OR,
COMBINATION: EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: (TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED): Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of some specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 grade level but less than one year, and I have more than one year, but less than two years of graduate education. I have computed the percentage of these requirements that I meet, and the total is at least 100% for the GS-09 grade level.

Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary, although some slight physical effort may be required such as some walking, standing, bending, or carrying of light items.
Work Conditions: The work is performed in an office setting with adequate lighting and other facilities with no unusual health hazards. The incumbent observes normal safety precautions.
