This position will be assigned to Camp Bullis located in San Antonio, TX. This is a Regular part time category position with guaranteed 20 hrs/week, scheduled as needed, may work up to 40 hrs/week. Employees appointed to a regular category position are eligible for benefits. Must be physically able to frequently lift/carry medium to heavy objects weighing 40 lbs., occasionally lift/carry objects up to 50 lbs. Must be able to actively bend, stoop, stand, reach and work in awkward positions.

Duties

Loads and unloads heavy boxes, bulky supplies, and materials to and from tracks, dollies, etc., moves heavy boxes, cartons, or luggage by hand, hand truck, or dolly; opens crates and boxes using crowbars, and cuts bands using shears; stacks boxes and cartons where directed. Using a shovel, digs ditches and trenches where a pick is not needed to loosen the dirt, and where grading and sloping is not required; fills holes with dirt and levels bumps and low places, using shovel, hand tamper, and rake. Runs hand lawnmowers or (domestic type) powered lawnmowers, when this does not require heavy physical effort (for example, on steep grades); clears small trees and bushes, using handsaw, hatchet, or clipper. Moves and arranges furniture as directed; shovels snow from sidewalks; washes and waxes cars and trucks by hand or power buffer. Requirements

• This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
• This position has been identified as a Test Designated Position (TDP). The incumbent of this position will be subject to and must consent to a pre-employment and random drug testing. Must have a valid drivers license.
• This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
• This position has physical lifting requirement which requires the incumbent to complete a favorable pre-employment physical. Must be able to lift objects weighing 40 lbs. and occasionally lift and carry 50 lbs.
