About the Position: Serves as the senior strategic planning officer within the Strategic Initiatives Group, responsible for developing strategic and broadly based logistics initiatives, actions, and programs which dovetail into the Army Campaign Plan. Responsible for providing staff interface with the Chief of Staff, the Strategic Initiatives Group, HQDA G-4, AMC, TRADOC and multiple Directorates within CASCOM.
Duties
Develop strategic logistic initiatives, actions and programs to integrate into the Army Campaign plan.
Respond to inquiries and data calls concerning future organization concepts.
Assess mission alternatives for inclusion in command wide Campaign Plan and other strategic plans and studies.
Provide input to the development and implementation of the organization?s Strategic Communications Plan.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
- This is an obligated position. An obligated position is one to which an employee has statutory restoration rights or entitlement based on active military service, recovery from a compensable injury, or return rights based on an overseas tour.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
- This is a Temporary position intended to last 12 months. A temporary position may be extended to a maximum of 5 years and may be terminated at any time during the duration of the appointment.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience such as researching, evaluating and formulating plans, policies, programs, strategies and courses of action for the Command, providing advice and counsel to senior leadership regarding strategic planning, interpreting orders and campaign plans, building campaign plans. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
