This position is located at Office of the Inspector General for Tax Admin,Office of Investigations- Deputy Inspector General for Investigations. As a Telecommunications Specialist (Spectrum Manager), you will be responsible for the spectrum management responsibilities for all Treasury Bureaus and supported agencies.

Duties

As a Telecommunications Specialist (Spectrum Manager), you will: Evaluate and recommends radio communications system designs and electronic equipment technical standards that significantly influence the effectiveness and cost of systems purchased by Treasury bureaus. Establish Departmental views, positions and recommendations relating to the administrative and technical management of radio communications concerning spectrum management. Provide staff support in the interpretation of national and international policy, rules and regulations, and technical standards relating to all forms of radio communications, including data transmission and satellite services. Represent the Department on various Government-wide working groups and committees, which function at the national level to consider the Government-wide management and technical use of radio communications in all its forms.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Specialized experience For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: -Designing, managing, and operating radio system communication systems; AND -Interpreting and applying national and international policy, along with the rules and regulation pertaining to the operation of all forms of radio communications facilities and stations; AND -Communicating both orally and in writing on processes, reports, findings, and other applicable telecommunications information Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-14, you must have been at the GS-13level for 52 weeks. Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
