This vacancy is in the Bureau of Consular Affairs, Passport Services, Dallas Agency (CA/PPT/DA). The official title is Supervisory Passport Specialist. CA/PPT provides the American public with the millions of passports applied for each year and administer the laws and regulations governing nationality incidents to determining passport entitlement. This position directs up to four adjudication supervisors in the PPT/DA passport adjudication section.

Duties
Serves as an authority on resolution of highly complex citizenship cases and unique adjudication problems referred by subordinate supervisors
As the expert in the region on citizenship, drafts and reviews correspondence for the Agency/Center Director on the most complex cases
Devises and implements internal controls to both assure that laws, regulations, policies and procedures are adhered
Monitors the overall quality and quantity of the work of section personnel
Periodically reviews passport applications on which processing is completed
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Incumbent will be subject to random drug testing.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
Qualifications

NOTE: Applicants must meet time-in-grade and time after competitive appointment requirements, by the closing date of this announcement.
Time-In-Grade Requirements: Federal applicants must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade to satisfy time-in-grade restrictions, per 5CFR 300, Subpart F.
Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience may have been gained in work such as developing, examining, investigating, adjudicating, or authorizing claims arising under the immigration and/or nationality laws of the United States.
Experience serving as an authority on resolution of highly complex citizenship cases and unique adjudication problems referred by subordinate supervisors
Experience drafting and reviewing correspondence for the Agency/Center Director on the most complex cases
Experience monitoring the overall quality and quantity of the work of section personnel
Experiencing devising and implementing internal controls to both assure that laws, regulations, policies and procedures are adhered
In addition, applicant's experience must also demonstrate that the candidate possesses the following qualities:
