The selectee of this position serves as a Administrative Officer responsible for planning, implementing, and directing District administrative programs in support of the mission of the United States Marshals Service.
This position is located in the District of Columbia Superior Court/ Washington, DC.
Duties
As a Administrative Officer at the GS-0341-13 grade level, some of your typical work assignments may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Plans the work to be accomplished by subordinates, establishes priorities, assigns work, evaluates work performance, provides advice, counsel, and guidance to subordinates.
Principal advisor to U.S. Marshal and Chief Deputy for all financial and administrative policies and procedures.
Applies a wide range of statistical and quantitative analytical methodologies in developing short and long -range district budgets based on fiscal allocations from the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Assists in the development of annual budget requests and makes recommendations to the Chief Deputy and U.S. Marshal based on historical and projected spending analysis.
Manages administrative activities related to prisoner support, judicial security, warrant operations, oversight of Investigative Analyst operations, and the civil process program.

Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a favorable determination of suitability for a Public Trust position.
- This is a Testing Designated Positions (TDP) and is subject to random drug testing.
- May be required to successfully complete a supervisory probationary period.
- Must be a Current USMS employee and meet time-in-grade requirements for consideration. (52 weeks at the next lower grade level)

Qualifications
TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit Promotion applicants must provide an SF50 Notice of Personnel Action that indicates proof of status and time-in-grade eligibility. The SF50 must include the position, title, series, grade, step, tenure, type of service (Competitive or Excepted) and career status (career or career-conditional). No award SF50 will be accepted as proof of status and time-in-grade eligibility.
One year at the GS-12 grade level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 grade level.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the education and/or experience required for the grade level(s) to which you apply.
To qualify at the GS-13 grade level, you must meet the following:
Specialized Experience: Experience that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. You must have at least one year (12 months) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service performing the following duties:
Developing administrative management plans to identify administrative processes and deadlines;
Providing advice related to personnel functions such as hiring, employee performance, and/or training;
Applying a variety of purchasing regulations, methods, and procedures to acquire services and supplies using purchase orders, blanket purchase agreements, or fixed price negotiated contracts; and
Analyzing budgetary information to ensure accurate status of obligations, accruals, and paid transactions.
