Duties
As a Support Services Specialist you are a valuable member of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) team and mission. This position is within the Assests and Logistics Branch (ALB), in the Assests and Logistics Management Division (ALM) under the Mission and Readiness Support Directorate located in Glynco, Georgia. ALM strives to service the client base through superior customer service in cradle-to-grave personal property and mobile asset management, including inventory accountability, reutilization, recycling and disposal, mail management and distribution logistics, and vehicle and marine fleet support.
Requirements

- This is a bargaining unit position.

- Must possess and maintain a valid state issued driver's license to conduct official government business.
- Overtime work may be required.
- You must be able to meet job-related medical and/or fitness standards. You will be subject to an initial and annual physical examination that measures your visual, hearing, and physical acuity.
- Position is subject to the Lautenberg Amendment - persons convicted of misdemeanor crimes of domestic violence are prohibited from occupying this position.
- This position is designated as Emergency Essential. You will be required to sustain FLETC operations in the event of a localized situation, such as inclement weather, interruptions to power, or dismissal or closure of DHS operations or services.
- This position participates in FLETC’s Continuity of Operations Program. You are responsible for ensuring little or no disruption to the FLETC Mission Essential or Primary Mission Essential Functions in the event of an emergency.
- This position is eligible for situational-only telework based on agency policy.

The qualification requirements listed below must be met by the closing date of this announcement. You qualify for the GS-09 grade level if you possess one of the following:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level performing a variety of functions and services applicable to personal property and mobile asset management, including inventory accountability, reutilization, recycling and disposal; mail management and distribution logistics; and vehicle and marine fleet support. OR
Successful completion of three full years of higher-level graduate education or a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited college or university, in public administration, business administration, industrial engineering, industrial management, or other administrative or management fields related to the position to be filled. College transcripts required OR
An equivalent combination of specialized experience and graduate education. Only graduate education in excess of the first 36 semester hours may be combined with the specialized experience. College transcripts required.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps and AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. Physical Demands: The position must be able to participate in activities necessary to conduct shipping and receiving of parcels and freight such as firearms, ammunition, and other personal property. This may require considerable standing, walking, stooping, bending, and vehicle operation. Position must be able to perform heavy work and is sometimes required to lift weight in excess of 50 pounds. Employee also performs work on hard surfaces and in areas which require standing, stooping, bending, and working in physically taxing and uncomfortable positions. Position includes duties that require the ability and training to operate a forklift.
Work Environment: Work areas may be inside and outside, in areas that are hot, cold, damp, drafty, dusty, etc. Likewise, there may be exposure to the possibility of cuts, bruises, or injury from materials with sharp edges or from materials handling equipment. In such cases, the project or assignment would dictate the work environment and requisite personal safety equipment.
