Duties
You will inspect and test heavy mobile equipment to determine required repairs.
You will repair, overhaul, modify, and maintain heavy mobile equipment such as vehicles, trucks, locomotives, fire-fighting equipment and
weight/material handling equipment.
You will repair and maintain both diesel and gas fired generators.
You will diagnose problems and disassemble, repair and adjust complex mechanical systems.
You will machine and weld parts for equipment.
You will repair sub-systems such as transmissions, hydraulic systems, fuel injection systems, air systems, compressors and electrical systems.
You will test operate all repaired equipment to determine operating efficiency.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night
differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States drivers license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain
the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Performing repairs, rebuilding,
modifying, and testing heavy mobile equipment (e.g. bulldozers, rollers, mobile cranes, road sweepers, power shovels, and generators); 2)
Identifying tools such as pullers, wrenches, gauges, automatic transmission that are required for work tasks; and 3) Using test procedures and
equipment in tracing hard-to-locate problems.
