Duties
You will complete routine installation, maintenance, and repairs on electric power control equipment, distribution lines, or electric-generating equipment.
You will install new electrical equipment (e.g., transformers, capacitors, insulators, switches, circuit breakers, fuses, meters) to connect main distribution lines.
You will use electrical test equipment (e.g., multimeters, ohmmeters, voltmeters, meggers, torque testers) to locate circuit faults.
You will use phase stick or phase rotation meter to check out rotation of cables before switching into a hot circuit.
You will interpret wiring diagrams, general written policies, and procedures to complete inspection, testing, calibration, and operation of all system equipment.

- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including rotating shifts, overtime, nights, weekends, holidays and/or be "called back" to meet mission requirements.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver?s license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current licenses to operate equipment.
- May require special certification or license if assigned work requires special certification or licensing to perform the work or to use specialized tools or equipment.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

1) Reading and understanding circuit diagrams of interconnects such as generators, buses, switches, and circuit breakers.
2) Planning, carrying out, troubleshooting and repairing high voltage generating, controlling and distribution systems
3) Using test equipment such as: oscillators, meggers, phase sticks, phase rotation meters, digital test equipment, etc.
