Duties

Determine the need for repair on existing buildings, structures, wood and masonry structures, and recreation areas by performing carpentry, painting, welding, heating, and plumbing work. Perform general plumbing work to maintain facilities by applying standard measurements, specifications, and instructions when replacing, operating, laying, and assembling piping for water, gas, and fuel oil. Conduct regular testing of fuel and water systems at field camps, campgrounds, and various facilities to ensure compliance with state standards. Use gasoline or diesel-powered equipment in the accomplishment of duties including motor vehicles and boats, backhoes, forklifts, man lifts, flat beds, weed eaters, jackhammers, axes, and chainsaws. Follow instructions, equipment manuals, basic blueprints, wiring diagrams, sketches, drawings of the normal practices and procedures of routine maintenance tasks to complete routine maintenance tasks. Perform routine and preventive maintenance on vehicles, boats, roads, sidewalks, driveways, and tools.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service or exempt.
  • Subject to satisfactory adjudication of background investigation and/or fingerprint check.
  • Successful completion of one-year probationary period, unless previously served.
