About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command, Security Resiliency Activity ACOFS, G-2.

Duties

Provides subject matter expertise on a wide range of security-PERSEC) relate disciplines, including but not limited to Personnel Security (PERSEC) and Information Security (INFOSEC). Serves as a Subject Matter Expertise (SME) on Counter-Insider Threat (C-InT) matters, facilitating the forwarding of Insider Threat Information (InT) to identify possible InT activities. Assists in establishing procedural policies for handling responses and provide technical interpretations and opinions when requested. Performs collaboration and synchronization to improve Security Operation?s collective support to ensure uniformed standards and procedures exist throughout the enterprise.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • May be required under-go a random counterintelligence scope polygraph examination with no deception indicated.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on a T5 (or equivalent level) investigation with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
  • TDY Travel may be required approximately 15% or more of the time.
  • All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-13). Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Information SecurityOrganizational AwarenessPersonnel SecuritySecurity
