This position is located in the Pharmacy Department of the Rosebud Indian Health Service in Rosebud, SD. The position is responsible for analyzing, implementing and maintenance of automation and technology to optimize pharmacy practices, pharmacy systems, and the medication-use process.
Duties
Develops, designs, implements and manages a pharmacology informatics program using automation and technology.
Analyzes patient data relating to prescription medication, examining factors such as drug dosage, contraindications and side effects.
Responsible for evaluating, guiding, implementing, and building data systems that support pharmacy departments.
Develops, implements, integrates, and maintain automation and technology to ensure safe and appropriate use of medications.
Qualifications

Basic Requirements for the GS-12 (or equivalent) Grade Level
In addition to the requirements for the GS-11 (or equivalent) level, applicants must have a minimum of one year of professional pharmacy experience.
Experience: Recommends new systems and processes to fill gaps and to streamline and/or automate processes for the pharmacy department to improve operations: Ensures that medication related electronic and informatic systems support compliance with state and federal rules and regulations; Compiles data and prepares complex administrative and management reports; Serves as a liaison to the pharmacy departments and assists with educating the pharmacy staff on system new functionalities and features.
