This position is in the Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It is being recruited under 10 U.S.C. 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system. Positions in the Cyber Excepted Service are positions necessary to carry out and support the mission of the United States Cyber Command.
It is in the Supervision/Management Work Category at the Expert Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA-JH35.
Duties
As Chief, Future Operations, plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work.
Leads, plans, conducts, and participates in operational planning teams, crisis action teams, projects and studies to develop, analyze and evaluate cyberspace operations plans for future operations support.
Develops course of action (COAs) outlining plans or change recommendations and then briefs (written or verbal) senior JFHQ-DODIN leadership.
Serves on senior level panels, working groups, and committees to plan, coordinate, and recommend the implementation of DCO-IDM actions of far-reaching scope and significance to DOD/strategic interests.
Prepares and delivers white papers, action reports, briefings, and presentations to USCYBERCOM, DoD Organizations, Service Cyber Components and JFHQ-DODIN leadership.

- This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
- Drug Testing Position.
- Top Secret/ SCI security clearance required.

Qualifying Experience:
To qualify at the GG-15, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.
For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience in developing and leading future operations planning efforts for global theater response actions to cybersecurity events.

Education
There is no substitution of education for specialized experience at the GG-15 grade level.
