This position is a Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor, Division of Facilities Management, located at the White Earth Service Unit; White Earth, MN. This position reports to the Supervisory Facilities Engineer or designee.
Duties
Recommend and implement appropriate corrective measure in the areas of maintenance, repairs, assignments and furnishing or equipment.
Coordinate with Facility Manager to review current expenditures for operations and maintenance activities.
Assign work order priorities based upon degree of need, availability of personnel, materials, and equipment.
Consult with employees regarding job assignments and review of completed work.
Orients new employees regarding work policies and maintenance of supplies, materials and equipment, work methods and techniques to be used, standards of craftsmanship required and housekeeping and safety procedures.
Qualifications

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR WS-4749-09: A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. Evidence which demonstrates you possess the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of this position must be supported by detailed descriptions of such on your resume. Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C.
Screen-out Element: Ability To Lead Or Supervise 3 or more other workers in maintenance mechanic positions completing the following tasks: Assign work to subordinate staff, plan and distribute workload, inspect work in progress, train or instruct subordinate staff, and report to supervisor on status and progress of work, initiate disciplinary actions for insubordinate behavior, initiate requests for personnel actions, such as promotions, reassignments, and details. Additional examples include: working independently in a wide range of Maintenance activities, ensure maintenance and/or facility operations are carried out in accordance with appropriate policies and procedures. Use and apply standard building techniques, practices, and codes, read and understand blueprints, sketches and schematics, read and understand work orders in order to complete assigned work.
Candidates for this position will evaluated under the Federal Wage System (FWS) Job Grading Standards.
