The National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC) leads the nation's effort to protect the United States from terrorism by integrating, analyzing and sharing information to drive whole-of-government action and achieve our national CT objectives.
Duties
NCTC's Directorate of Intelligence (DI) is seeking an individual to serve as Deputy Group Chief of Analytic and Multimedia Production. The manager will lead a high-impact group of editors, production officers, graphic designers, cartographers, multimedia specialists, and disclosure officers responsible for the review, publication, and dissemination of all DI finished intelligence.
To help lead this diverse group of multi-disciplined officers, NCTC DI is looking for a motivated and proactive manager with a focus on officer development, product excellence, and customer service; and a willingness to propose innovative solutions to address challenges and meet strategic goals.
This officer will:
Determine strategic direction and provide leadership and management oversight for the continuity of daily group operations and the development of plans for production/media personnel, resources, and programs to meet current and future customer and mission needs.
Lead, direct, and foster coordination and collaboration with key customers, stakeholders, and senior personnel to ensure the staff is capable of delivering the highest quality finished intelligence products and services.
Anticipate the impact of changes across NCTC and the ODNI on the unit's ability to support mission needs and proactively plan and implement strategies to leverage change to the customer's advantage.
Develop and lead the unit division chiefs and assess performance, collaborate on and oversee goal setting, and provide feedback on personal and professional development.
Ensure continuity of team operations by guaranteeing that the team is equipped with the tools and expertise required to meet future customer office and mission needs.
Perform other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
Mandatory Requirements:
Superior leadership, management, and organizational skills, and superior ability to skillfully apply corporate, customer, and publications/media knowledge, skills, and abilities to direct plans and management for production, personnel, and resources.
First-rate communication skills, both oral and written.
Superior interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with sound judgment and the ability to work effectively both independently and in a team or collaborative environment.
Expert knowledge of customer organizations in order to ensure the group is capable of providing exceptional products and customer service. Initiative and ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
Expert ability to direct taskings, assess and manage performance, collaborate on goal setting, and support personal and professional development of all levels of personnel.
Applicants must possess at least one year of experience as a first-line supervisor at a national agency, service component, or combatant command.
Desired requirements:
Knowledge of corporate policy and guidelines for intelligence production; knowledge of formats, standards, and production resources for electronic and print publishing processes and services.
Previous experience in production management.
Experience with managing a contract workforce; COTR certification.
