This position is an Administrative Support Assistant, GS- 0303-5 working in Long Beach, WA for the Willapa National Wildlife Refuge Complex. Duties

As a Administrative Support Assistant, you will perform a wide variety of administrative support activities, including financial tracking and monitoring, travel, computers, payroll, public contacts, and making purchases using a government credit card. Your duties will include but are not limited to the following: Compiles budget and fiscal data from financial management reports. Tracks all fund targets for a station that has up to two natural resource sub-activity accounting codes. Prepares obligations, reviews and processes invoices and vouchers, and enters information into an automated administrative accounting system. Purchases necessary supplies and services by proper procurement methods. Initiates personnel actions through the automated personnel tracking and payroll system and prepares and processes miscellaneous personnel forms. Prepares, maintains, and ensures accuracy of time and attendance reports through the electronic time and attendance system. Establishes and maintains physical and automated files, revises and disposes of files in accordance with governing regulatory procedures. From rough drafts, notes, or oral instructions, prepares correspondence, forms, reports and other documents, including a wide variety of technical terminology, from rough draft, notes or oral instructions. Ensures proper spelling, grammar, format and arrangement of material.

Qualifications

Only experience and education obtained by 08/09/2023 will be considered. In order to qualify for this position you must possess the Minimum Qualification. Minimum Qualification [GS-5] A. I have one (1) year specialized experience that is equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-04) in the Federal service that equipped me with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Examples of specialized experience may include: 1) performing administrative functions (payroll, personnel, travel, and/or correspondence); 2) using various office procedures and equipment (spreadsheets computer hardware, database, etc.); 3) compiling budgetary data; 4) assisting with procurement procedures. NOTE: Your resume must contain sufficient detail of this level of work, i.e., complete begin/end dates, hours worked per week, duties performed, etc. for each timeframe for consideration. or B. I have successfully completed 4 years of education above high school level in any field from an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. (One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school). NOTE: Transcripts required. or C. I have a combination of education and experience as listed above. [Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience]. NOTE: Transcripts required and Your resume must contain sufficient detail of this level of work, i.e., complete begin/end dates, hours worked per week, duties performed, etc. for each timeframe for consideration. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Time In Grade Requirement: Applicants must meet both eligibility and qualification requirements for the position of interest by the closing date of the JOA. Specifically, i. Area of Consideration. ii. Time-in-grade (TIG) requirements as specified in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F. iii. Time after competitive appointment as specified in 5 CFR 330.502. iv. Qualification requirements outlined in OPM's Qualifications Standards for General Schedule Positions or for Federal Wage System (FWS), wage grade positions, applicants are evaluated using the OPM Job Qualification System for Trades and Labor Occupations and the job element examining method. Education

PROOF OF EDUCATION: All applicants who are using education or a combination of education and experience to qualify must submit copies of official or unofficial transcripts which include grades, credit hours earned, major(s), grade point average or class ranking, institution name, and student name. If any required coursework is not easily recognizable on transcripts, or if you believe a portion of a particular course can be credited toward meeting an educational requirement, you must also provide a memorandum on letterhead from the institution's registrar, dean, or other appropriate official stating the percentage of the course that should be considered to meet the requirement and the equivalent number of units. Unofficial transcripts are acceptable; however, if you are selected for the position, you will be required to produce the original official transcripts.

PASS/FAIL COURSES: If more than 10 percent of your undergraduate course work (credit hours) were taken on a pass/fail basis, your claim of superior academic achievement must be based upon class standing or membership in an honor society.

GRADUATE EDUCATION: One academic year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credits hours your graduate school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study. Such study may have been performed on a full-time or part-time basis. If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study.
