This position is located in the Division of Administrative Services, Navajo Area Indian Health Service in St. Michaels, AZ. The primary purpose of the position is to assist and advise in performing duties in the areas of receiving, supply management, records management, GSA vehicle, forms management activities.
Duties
NOTE: This position is being announced concurrently with announcement IHS-23-NJ-12064975-ESEP/MP for candidates at the GS-07 grade level, please review vacancy announcement for eligibility requirements. Applicants must apply separately for each announcement in order to be considered for the higher grade level.
Coordinates discrepancies for goods received; processes and assures receiving reports in accordance with established procedures.
Ensures receipt of and processing of receiving reports for services, supplies, materials and equipment for payment and related functions.
Files packing slips, copies of documents for personal services contracts and related documents with purchase order files.
Resolves shipment discrepancies of overages, shortage or damages in shipping.
Receives, inspects, counts and stores supplies and equipment designated storeroom areas in the hospital.
Plans, develops, implements, and supports Area wide and Service Unit records management.
Maintains proper records for all accountable and hospital forms received and issued.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
GS-05: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-04 grade level with the knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position. Examples include: Maintaining inventory by preparing/processing reports and supplies through an automated system. OR
Four (4) years of education above the high school level; OR
Combination of education and experience when combined fully meet the minimum qualifications for this position. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify an applicant for GS-05 grade level.
GS-06: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level.
Examples of specialized experience: Knowledge of supply regulations, policies, procedures to process receiving reports by using an automatic system; using an electronic system for ordering and receiving supplies; reviewing orders by conducting research to find records for supply transactions.
Time In Grade - Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
