This position is located within Commander, Mid-Atlantic Region, Fleet and Family Readiness Program. The purpose of the position is to perform minor maintenance and repair on a variety of gas and diesel equipment, machinery and vehicles in support of the assigned activity. This position is located at Auto Skills on Oceana Naval Air Station, in Virginia Beach, VA.

Qualifications

Resumes must include information which demonstrates experience and knowledge, skills, and ability (KSAs) as they relate to this position. Applicants are encouraged to be clear and specific when describing their experience level and KSAs. A qualified candidate possess the following: Must possess the ability to read and interpret parts and repair manuals. Skill in the use of basic hand tools (i.e. wrenches, sockets, ratchets, brake tools, screwdrivers, etc.) and ability to operate a variety of test equipment ( tachometers, battery hydrometers, etc.). In addition to the above, the incumbent must posses a basic understanding of the makeup and operation of various individual systems and their interrelationships to analyze test results. Must possess sufficient knowledge of various techniques for removing, replacing, cleaning and installing a variety of parts, components and accessories such as filters, radiators, universal joints, etc. to determine work to be performed.
