This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for DIB/MRTFB to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Performs a variety of duties in support of the transportation, shipping and receiving operations of various classifications of ammunition to include the receipt, storage, issue and accountability of material required for shipment and/or receipt.

Duties

Coordinates the shipment of inbound/outbound loads and determines and communicates status of carrier loads. Identifies and applies the proper requirements necessary for receipt and/or shipment of various classes of ammunition. Completes pre-shipment procedures and prepares and processes shipping and/or receiving documentation timely in order to meet shipping schedules and receipt processing timelines. Communicates with trucking dispatchers, transportation drivers and Depot employees to ensure timely movement of conveyance, and that correct loads are assigned and transported. Maintains and manages physical accountability of serialized seals for shipping. Operates and maintains telephones, radios, computers, printers, and other devices installed at the shipping desk. Performs alternate key custodian duties as directed by management.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education/experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Providing technical support to supervisors on transportation matters; Communicating by radio and telephone with dispatchers to ensure shipments and loads have been assigned and transported; Identifying requirements for shipments and maintaining proper paperwork; and managing physical accountability of serialized seals for shipping. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service. (GS-04) OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
