About the Position: This is a Bindery Machine Operator position located within the Human Resources Command G6, Fort Knox, KY.

Duties

Set up, adjust and safely operate a variety of printing and bindery equipment including hydraulic cutters, high speed electronic folders, sorters and drill presses. Basic knowledge of printing and bindery terms, practices, paper weight, measuring skills. Set up, adjust and safely operate a variety of printing and duplicating equipment, with an understanding size and dimensions of printed materials from production to finished size. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work with minimal supervision from written detailed specifications.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Must be able to lift and carry loads of material weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • This position requires the employee to occasionally travel away from the normal duty station. Travel may be required to attend training, conferences, and other mission requirements.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. During probationary period the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
  • This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
  • This position requires the incumbent to pass a pre-placement medical and annual medical surveillance exam in accordance with Occupational Health requirements.
  • Permanent Change of Station (PCS) cost is not authorized.

Subject to cuts, bruises, and broken bones as a result of accidents while driving or when loading or unloading vehicles. Subject to injury from falling or dropped stock. Work areas may be hot, cold, damp, drafty, or poorly lighted.
