You will serve as a ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT ASSISTANT (OA) in the Weapons ADMIN/SUP Division of NAVMAG INDIAN ISLAND.

Duties

You will use a computer or a conventional typewriter to type narrative and tabular material. You will use computer processing systems to prepare documents, which requires inserting, deleting, editing, formatting, creating form letters and automatically merging these with mailing lists. You will compose correspondence on administrative support or clerical functions of the office. You will maintain subject matter files, instructions, and records. You will perform clerical and technical work in support of budget analysis and administration. You will track all financial, personnel, supply, and other administrative transactions. You will prepare travel requests, schedule transportation, make lodging reservations, and assist travelers with submitting travel claims. You will requisition supplies, office equipment, and publications, ensuring that adequate administrative supplies are on hand. You will receive telephone calls, greet visitors, and direct them to appropriate staff members.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver?s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing clerical, technical, or fiscal work to resolve administrative or budgetary problems for the accuracy and reliability of products or services. In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successful completion of one year of graduate education may be credited in those few instances where the graduate education is directly related to the work of the position
OR
A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
