DUTIES: As a supervisor, perform typical personnel management tasks, such as: assign and manage work within the Branch; organize and conduct training; acquire necessary resources to accomplish the mission; and provide feedback and evaluations for assigned employees. Monitor prime contract execution (e.g., cost, schedule, performance, risk, etc.), and advise leadership on technical design, material development, acquisition, test, and operational issues related to requirements, production engineering, finance, performance, and schedule trade-offs. Oversee the final development, Low-Rate Initial Production, and subsequent Full Rate Production efforts executed by the Department of Energy's national laboratories. Review products delivered by contractors and attend various technical and programmatic forums to ensure ICBM Fuze Mod activities are progressing to meet both program schedule and technical objectives leading to on-time fielding to support the Minuteman III and Sentinel Weapon System. Engage with extended and geographically dispersed teams, including subject matter experts and executive-level representatives from across the Department of Energy, Navy, AFNWC, other government organizations, the ICBM Integration Support Contractor, and other key stakeholders to ensure technical and programmatic activities are successfully planned, coordinated, and executed. Develop and present technical and programmatic briefings to Senior leadership and mission partners. SKILLS: This position requires two areas of expertise. you are desired to have: Five or more years of progressively complex acquisition program management experience that preferably included ICBM weapon system;and Refined communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills sufficient to effectively interface with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, as well as the independence, assertiveness, self-reliance, and tenacity to get the job done. Strong background in leadership, supervision, and employee mentorship is highly desired. Experience in executing in a Digital Acquisition program using Digital Engineering support systems such as Primavera, Microsoft Project, Atlassian, etc., is preferred.

  • Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance, and will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.
  • Locations are not negotiable. The actual duty locations available may be located on the Air Force Civilian Service website.
  • This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing.
  • Supervisory requirements may be required depending upon the position being filled.

  • Employee must meet Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements, which includes achieving Program Management ?Advanced? certification category within required timeframe after appointment.
  • In accordance with the Ethics in Government Act, 1978, employee is required to file an Office of Government Ethics (OGE) Form 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, upon appointment and will be required to file annually.
  • Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): Approximately 10 days per year.
  • This is a Critical Acquisition Position (CAP).
  • Selectee must execute a written agreement to remain in Federal service in this position for at least three years.
  • The selectee must meet or be capable of achieving the APDP certification as designated on the position description within the defined grace period for that certification level after assignment.
  • This position also requires employee to engage in acquisition continuous learning activities achieving 80 Continuous Learning Points every 24 months.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of the policies, practices, regulations, and laws concerning the acquisition management process and initiatives. 2. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. 3. Knowledge of the missions, roles, functions, organizational structures, and operation of the DOD, Air Force, and organizations that govern, interface with, and/or influence the systems acquisition process. 4. Skill to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff in critical aspects of development and production, support of systems, subsystems, or equipment and to coordinate various aspects of systems acquisition such as engineering, contracting, financial management, configuration, test, and manufacturing. 5. Ability to supervise, mentor, motivate, appraise, and work with subordinate supervisors and non-supervisory employees.
