You will serve as a AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL SPECIALIST in the AIR OPERATIONS PROGRAM of COMNAVREG SE JAX.

Duties

You will develop and integrate policies and procedures for Air Traffic Control functions. You will identify deficiencies in regulations and procedures and make recommendations to correct. You will analyze the operational readiness and resource requirements for the Regional Air Navigational Aids and Landing Systems (NAALS) then recommend action across the Future Years Defense Plan. You will develop metrics and link them to requirements and fleet readiness. You will develop and monitor civilian career management training curriculum throughout the Navy Region Southeast Air Operations Air Traffic Control sub function and provide oversight on military training.

  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) provide technical expertise on utilization of communications/radar equipment and support systems utilized for air traffic control systems; 2) develop short and long range management plans to support the regional Air Operations Program; 3) analyze and manage operational readiness and resource requirements; 4) prepare written material on technical Air Traffic Control subjects; and 5) develop training materials and training plans for ATC personnel over a broad spectrum of subjects.
