About the Position: This position may be filled as a temporary promotion, or temporary reassignment grade not to exceed (NTE) 1 year by a current permanent Army employee. Temporary promotions or reassignments may be extended up to a maximum of five years, and may be made permanent without further competition. This position may be filled as a term appointment NTE 366 days, if the candidate is not a current permanent Army employee. Term appointments may be extended up to a maximum of six years.

Duties

Serve as key Videographer for the Visual Information Services Branch, Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization, and Security, US Army Garrison ? Detroit Arsenal. Produce and transmits television broadcasts, video productions, multi-media projects, photography studio operations, and video teleconference (VTC) facility. Receive and processes support and scheduling requests via the Visual Information Ordering Site (VIOS). Perform video services to support a wide variety of subjects: combat readiness; intelligence and security; education and training; public information; strategic planning, marketing; research, development, test, evaluation; major events. Provide live television coverage for closed circuit cable broadcasts of special command official events, newsworthy occurrences, training sessions, briefings, town hall meetings, live commander addresses to workforce, and symposiums. Edit video sequences and digital images into production products. Serve as alternate video teleconference (VTC) facilitator. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, such as: operating video systems, such as television broadcast and filming cameras and recorders, video editor systems, and auxiliary television production accessories; using editing systems and other editing equipment for audiovisual production; correcting audio and video issues with available troubleshooting systems; coordinating details for audiovisual programs with sponsors and other personnel. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as photography, radio or television production, motion picture production, or other fields related to the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18.
