Duties

You will analyze conventional projects involving designs, maintenance, and repair to identify necessary standard engineering practices You will develop quality assurance procedures by using local policy and procedural guides for specific contracting operations. You will confer with contractors or Contract Representatives to evaluate the progress of contract work. You will certify the completion of engineering documents to verify outstanding issues have been referred to the appropriate personnel.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying a variety of engineering concepts, principles and practices to design, lay out, execute and supervise design-bid-build and design build projects. Reviewing pre-award technical reviews of contract documents for bid ability, constructability, operability and environmental compliance. Reviewing frequent changes in contracts or other engineering requirements to assess project impacts; Applying communication and conflict resolution skills to solve challenging and/or contentious issues; Interpreting project schedules to identify project challenges.
