This position is located at US Mint,Denver-MANUFAC DEPT/Plant Manager CO/Public Affairs and Exhibits Division. As a Supervisory Public Affairs Specialist, you will administer, supervise or perform work involved in establishing programs that involve planning, designing, developing, and disseminating public affairs information and materials to inform and educate the public about United States Mint programs, activities and services.

Duties

As a/an Supervisory Public Affairs Specialist, you will: The following are the duties of this position at the GS-13. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position. Conduct programs that involve planning, designing, developing, and disseminating public affairs information and materials to inform and educate the public about the United States Mint programs, activities, and services. Develop written materials, maintain effective working relationships with specialized groups, and recommend communication approaches to improve program effectiveness. Manage, plan, design and execute a wide-ranging internal and external communications program that incorporates diverse functions and issues and serves distinct and specialized audiences. Be able to reply quickly, accurately, frequently and under special conditions to changing demands.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 14 days of the closing date of this announcement. For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: Planning, advising, designing, developing, and collaborating communication and media campaigns to convey information to the public on Agency/Organization programs. For the GS-12, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: Planning, writing and disseminating communication and media campaigns to convey information to the public about Agency/Organization programs. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
