THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT SURVIVAL FLIGHT EQUIPMENT REPAIRER, Position Description Number D0672000 and is part of the CO AASF, National Guard.
The Aviation Life Support Equipment (ALSE) Technician provides inspection, maintenance, adjustment, modification and repair of Aviation Life Support Equipments (ALSE) equipment.
Duties
Inspects and maintains ALSE for aviators and crew members. ALSE includes helmets with communication gear and weapon sighting device, survival vests comprised of various components, survival radios, cold/hot/overwater survival kits, life rafts/life preservers, oxygen masks, first aid kits, night vision goggles, torso harness assemblies, flight clothing, antiexposure assemblies, and body armor. Manages a Central Issue Facility (CIF) for ALSE and flight clothing. Conducts an effective ALSE training program for crew members, non-crew-members and civilian technicians. Serves as a back-up position for the Flight Operations Specialist. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
- Membership in the Colorado Army National Guard or those eligible to transfer or re-enlist.
- Must hold the grade of E-4 thru E-6.
- Compatible Military Assignment: 15 series MOS.
- Submit all required documentation.
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
- For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.
Qualifications
Military Grades: E-4 thru E-6
Compatible Military Assignments: 15 series MOS

Must have at least 12 months of Specialized Experience in each of the following:
1. Experience which has demonstrated knowledge of aviation life support equipment.
2. Experience reading and interpreting military manuals.
3. Experience in supply procedures and property accountability.
Education
Education cannot be substituted for Specialized Experience for this position.
