This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Incumbent serves as Project Manager for the Army Corps of Engineers, Albuquerque District. *Recruitment/Relocation incentives may be authorized to highly qualified candidates*

Duties

Reviews and evaluates the status of projects for attainment of objectives. Plans, programs and oversees cost and schedule execution of the planning, design, and construction of Civil Works water resources projects in coordination with the functional chiefs of each area Reviews and approves operating plans and approaches, establishes overall project priorities, procedures, and short- and long-range goals. Represents the District when dealing with the local, state and municipal authorities for the project and is responsible for furnishing authoritative responses to project questions and issues.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Business Travel (TDY) 20-40% of the time.

Evaluating status of project against established milestones and objectives to assure the attainment of goals and objectives. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). GS-13: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1.) Project management for one or more civil works, interagency, or intragovernmental projects. 2.) Planning, design, and/or construction of a project in coordination with other functional elements. 3.) Evaluating status of project against established milestones and objectives to assure the attainment of goals and objectives. 4.) Development and implementation of Project Management Plans (PMP). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
