The incumbent will serve as the Office of Policy, International Affairs, and Environment (APL) Senior Communications Advisor with responsibility for developing and executing strategic deliverables, and broad, ongoing communications to elevate the work of APL. The incumbent will shape APL's messaging and increase internal and external awareness and understanding of APL’s initiatives.
Duties
The Senior Communication Advisor is a recognized subject matter expert and provides leadership for highly complex and challenging communication activities under the minimal direction of a manager or executive. Acts as a principal specialist to develop, execute and improve overarching communication strategies utilizing established and innovative approaches, methodologies, and/or techniques to achieve both short and long-term organizational goals. Creates and manages the organizational communications framework which establishes clear roles and responsibilities for the organization's program. The Advisor writes, edits and coordinates comprehensive communications products. Also advises management to facilitate efficient and effective execution of the program activities. The incumbent will develop, drive, and manage communications strategies for APL leadership and ensure timely, consistent messaging across multiple communication channels, collaborating regularly with senior APL leadership to develop and refine corporate communications strategies serving the APL workforce, the FAA more broadly, and USDOT, as well as external groups.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-I, FG/GS-13 level. This experience is typically related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
