About the Position: This position serves as administrative support assistant with Business Processes Branch in support of District Technical Services Division.
This position is located at: United States Army Engineer District, Buffalo Technical Services Division, Business Processes Section, Buffalo, New York 14207.
Duties
Provides administrative and financial support functions using various information technology systems.
Performs timekeeping and related functions using automated reporting and financial management system within established processes.
Provides expertise for procurement of goods and services.
Prepares purchase documentation for variety of functions to include travel, goods, services, technical items, and reimbursement actions.
Provides rudimentary financial management analysis of various transactions to include costs, reports, cost histories, obligations, and expenditures.
Develops and implements processes for records and data management.
Processes travel orders for supported personnel including researching travel modes, accommodations, per diem rates, conducting cost analysis, coordinating travel arrangements, and resolving travel issues.
Assists with performing, planning, and coordinating variety of other program support tasks.
Requirements
- This position requires a typing in order to perform the duties of the position.
- This position has a qualified typist requirement with a minimum of 40 words per minute.

GS-05: Specialized experience is defined as: Utilizing various computer systems to access, input, track and maintain information; preparing various forms, correspondence, memorandums, and reports following guides and regulations which prescribe the proper format for correct preparation; maintaining a record and data management system and performing mail distribution.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).

Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
GS-06 Specialized experience is defined as: Performing procedural and administrative work in an office environment; preparing correspondence, maintaining record and data management system; completing travel cost analysis and arrangements; tracking and completing financial management transactions to include procurement of goods and services; completing timekeeping and labor cost actions; and assisting in creating plans, orders, and reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
