This position functions as an Equipment Servicer with primary responsibility for maintain such equipment as waxing machines, vacuum cleaners, power scrubbing machines, and wall washing machines. The work includes disassembling, making minor repairs, cleaning, oiling, and greasing equipment and replacing worn gears, gaskets, belts, brushes, and roller bearing. The incumbent also performs basic building maintenance and duties.
Duties
Duties:
An Equipment Servicer has primary responsibility for maintaining such equipment as waxing machines, vacuum cleaners, power scrubbing machines, and wall washing machines. The work includes disassembling, making minor repairs, cleaning, oiling, and greasing equipment and replacing worn gears, gaskets, belts, brushes, and roller bearing. The incumbent also perfon11s basic building maintenance and duties.
The Equipment Servicer performs maintenance, repair, and modification of equipment, such as vacuum cleaners, (e.g., single and double motor upright and micro static canister types), powered single disk scrubbing machines, automatic floor washers/scrubbers, high-speed floor polishing machines, heavy duty ride-on floor scrubbers, carpet extractors, and wall washing machines.
The work includes, disassembling, testing, troubleshooting, fitting, cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn gea1's, gaskets, belts, hoses, brushes and roller bearings. The Servicer checks battery fluid levels, identifies mechanical causes for malfunctions and follows established manufacturers preventive maintenance schedules.
The work includes the installation, maintenance, and repair of chemical dispensing units, soap dispensers, paper towel dispensers, mirrors, sharp containers, tool racks and related items. The employee also builds and assembles shelving units, ladders, steps, push brooms, lobby dustpans, and wash applicators. The incumbent performs other duties as assigned, normally of a related nature.
Work Schedule: 7:00am - 3:30pm, including weekend/holidays

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: The incumbent is often required to stand on hard surfaces for extended periods of time, and to bend, stoop, and work in tiring and sometimes uncomfortable positions. Lifts and carries items that weigh up to 40 pounds. Heavier items are moved with weight-handling equipment or with assistance from other workers. The employee is exposed to cuts and bruises from hand or powered tools and equipment and may be subject to flying debris and loud machine noise.
