This position is part of the Office of Science, Department of Energy. As a Financial Analyst, you will oversee the financial management process for Office of Science budget requests and perform analysis and reconciliation of accounting/financial data and information.

Qualifications
For GS-13 level
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level of GS-12 in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as:
Assisting with setting the strategic financial direction that is taken by the Office concerning field operations actual expenditures, obligations, costing patterns, projections, and alternative resource strategies.
Reviewing the potential effects of budgetary actions affecting subprograms within program direction by developing statistical data, preparing budget justifications, and recommending budget changes.
For GS-14 level
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level of GS-13 in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as:
Performing in-depth qualitative and quantitative analysis of each budget activity line, presenting information and making recommendations to the supervisor on improvement of the effectiveness of financial management systems.
Preparing the annual operating objectives, funding allocation recommendations, financial plans, and ensuring compliance with federal, Congressional, Departmental, and organizational policy guidelines
Interpreting reports and other financial data for program review and analysis, preparing recommendations and detailed work papers that support recommendations and findings.
