This position is permanent, full-time position located in the Maintenance Division at Assateague Island National Seashore in the Maryland District, Berlin, Maryland. The purpose of the position is to perform duties related to the general maintenance operation which includes custodial, motor vehicle operation, trades helper, and laborer duties.
Duties
Incumbent performs custodian duties including cleaning administrative and visitor-use facilities and grounds.

SCREEN OUT: Perform the most difficult and complex duties of Custodial Worker, WG-3566-05. Perform full range of tasks such as: Perform custodial and janitorial work such as sweeping, vacuuming, scrubbing & waxing floors; Operating and performing operator maintenance on a variety of vehicles, including cargo vans, sedans, SUVs, and light, and 1-ton pick-up trucks; Operating lawn mower, string trimmers, and leaf blowers in the performance of grounds maintenance; and Assisting higher graded employees by performing simpler and more routine duties of the following trades: Plumbing, Painting, and Material Handling/Animal Packing. Considered an expert and work with a high degree of independence.
